Two hand knitted cardigans for a colleague of my sister-in-law. I bring out the old knitting needles about once a year and normally for baby jerseys. I was an avid knitter up until my daughter was born 17 years ago. Hers was the last knitting I did until I hung up the needles to haul the out every now and again. Those years ago it was adult jerseys, aran, fairisle, motives, anything goes. Now....

So adorable, Lynn! Brings happy tears to my eyes remembering the blue and white sweater that Mister's Aunt knitted for him when he was a baby, and that his mother gave to him as a memento. Then when we had our son, the same Aunt knitted him an identical sweater, which I also saved. Lo, and behold our son had the twinks and, you guessed it, they wore their grandfather's and their father's sweaters. I think I did a post about it once. It's really cool how it all happened, so little do you know when you knit one of these, it might become a family heirloom!!
