Yippee! I leant how to colour black hair and love the way it turned out. I think the hair on all my images will be black from now on :-)

The image was coloured with a combination of copics and promakers.  The hair was coloured using a black copic fine-liner with the 'feathering' technique.  Very easy and very effective.

The tutorial can be found here: How to colour shiny black hair

I bought this stamp quite a long time ago to use on a chunky book and never used it again until now.  One of the challenges are called 'Best Friends' and what a perfect stamp this is.  Just a pity I will never get to send it to anybody.  Brothers and Sisters never came my way.

The image is coloured using a combination of promarkers and copics.

Meeting with RSA ladies

Some of the Cape Town ladies Lauren, Debbie and her daughter Sasha, Gail, Shamela, Michelle, Sharon And Shamela spent a lovely evening with Anne Erler at Lauren's place.  It was great to meet her and hear what some of the Gauteng/Pretoria ladies are getting up to and just having a good old natter.

The eats and coffee/tea was of course flowing and those of us that was a bit cold (it was raining quite heavily and cold) even snuggled under a blanket generously provided by Lauren.

We had looked through some of the Cape Town ladies craft work and wow, I am always so impressed with the beautiful work that the ladies produce.

This card was for the Monday CAS challenge at the Outlawz.  In the spirit of the olympic games we were challenged to represent our country.

I made this card for Lauren a fellow stamper.  I really enjoyed colouring this little lady and I don't think it turned out too badly.  Actually, I'm quite proud of it for a 'colouring' newbie.

This one for my sister-in-law whose birthday it was yesterday.  She's a 'green' fan.

Eid ul-fitr

I managed to make 4 Eid cards this evening.  I normally just get store bought ones but a special hand-made one for my dear friend who knows who she is.  I mean, how could I give her a store bought one?
This year I decided to make my own.  Quick and simple, all the same design with just a slight difference in the flowers used.

The 4th card remains a secret for now until the recipient has seen it.

Sunday the 12th Outlawz CAS challenge (Wings).
It's also a thank you card for a dear friend.

The embossing folder is from a company called Tri-Boss (multi-purpose folder).  I guess this means that it can be used in any embossing machine.  Not that it's been a problem before.

I embossed directly onto the card and coloured some of the embossed butterflies with chalk ink.  I still have to learn to take decent photographs.

A sympathy card for a friend and will also be used for the Outlawz sketch challenge today.

Teddy bear in a gift box

I finally found my mojo or maybe my mojo found me.
Embossed card layered onto turquoise card stock.  Teddy and gift box
coloured with promarkers, cut out and stuck onto the embossed card.

My road trip to Upington

We left at 6am fully kitted out in thermals, long sleeved t-shirt, jersey and outer protective gear. I wanted to remove some layers until some wise guy by the name Fred to hold fire until we had rode a little while.  Was he right! It was freezing cold and it basically stayed that way all the way to Upington.

The bike gave a bit of trouble but luckily hubby dearest could sort it out in no time.  The road was very long and I doubt if I will undertake such a long journey in one go again.

We stayed at a backpackers that wouldn't have been too bad if there were more bathrooms available. One shower with a separate bathroom/loo combination for about 4 couples. Definitely not good enough especially when we got back from the rally camp and everybody needed the loo.

Augrabie falls was a great experience and I always wonder where all the water comes from.

The only downer was when I got back I was as sick as a dog and spent 4 days in bed with the flu.
